Abstract
Interpretation is one of the most important theological and interpretive issues. Because Sheikh Toosi was one of the great commentators and theologians, this research seeks to explain what it means and its rules. This research is by library method. Relying on content analysis, it follows the interpretation in the works of Sheikh Toosi. We can talk about two types of approaches, regarding the relationship between interpretation and interpretation with Sheikh Toosi. In terms of interpretation, traces of both intra-textual and extra-textual attitudes can be traced in his theological-interpretive ideas. This article extracts the principles of rules in the interpretation of Sheikh Toosi. These include: denial of imitation, the need to rely on reason and valid narration, observing the apparent meaning of words, permission to deviate from the appearance of verses in certain circumstances, are among the most important of these rules. It should be noted that Sheikh Toosi's rational approach is prominent in his interpretation. Relying on reason and mentioning rational arguments can be seen in his works. Regardless of the correctness of these arguments, it shows the rationality of his thought. In Sheikh Toosi's view, interpretation, as an approach to understanding religion, has a purely rational style. Thus, due to Sheikh Toosi's interpretation of the Qur'an - especially in the interpretation of the Qur'an - his rational logic in understanding religion can be understood.
